Pippa Wylde
London Royal Ballet Career
|
Born in Nigeria, the youngest of five daughters born to a colonial family, Pippa returned to England when she was just nine years of age to attend an international vocational boarding school that specialised in dance. It was during this period that Pippa's natural talent for classical ballet emerged and was developed to a level whereby she successfully auditioned for a place at the Royal Ballet School in London. |

Within a year of joining the Royal Ballet School, and at the tender age of only 17, her abilities were further recognized when she was chosen to become one of the youngest dancers to be accepted into the Royal Ballet Company at Covent Garden, one of the most respected classical ballet companies in the world. Details of Pippa's 120 performances at Covent Garden can be found on the Royal Opera House website.

| During her time with the London Royal Ballet Company, Pippa quickly rose to the position of senior soloist, working with some of the world's most talented choreographers including Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Sir Frederick Ashton, David Bintley and Michael Corder. She also danced in leading roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle and Cinderella, to name but a few. Even today, Pippa can occasionally still be seen dancing on the 'Performing Arts' channel in past performances with the London Royal Ballet. |
