Pilates Sessions

1.     Initial Trial Session
The initial trial session is private, lasts approximately one hour and is designed for clients who may be unfamiliar with modern day Pilates. The session consists of a health screening and registration process (a strict requirement of our insurers) followed by a postural assessment and suggestions for a personal programme designed and paced towards your needs and levels of health and fitness. The 'health screening' questionnaire will help us to understand your current level of physical fitness and also your short and long term aspirations and personal fitness goals.

During this session Pippa will demonstrate selected Pilates movements that will offer you a clearer understanding of the principles and benefits of Pilates exercise that should allow you the opportunity to assess whether Pilates is of interest to you.

2.     Introductory Course
The 'Getting Started' course is structured for Pilates beginners and consists of four sessions specifically designed to enable you to understand and successfully achieve 'core stability' which is the essential 'launching pad' from which all Pilates exercise is based.

The introductory sessions can be undertaken on either a private or semi-private basis for friends and couples etc.

3.     Subsequent Sessions
Once the introductory matwork course has been completed, clients will continue to work on their personal programme fully supervised by Pippa. During these sessions you will become more familiar with the exercises and equipment and you should be able to confidently move on to more advanced level Pilates exercises, although it is important to remember that it is recommended that Pilates exercise is practised at least once a week for best results.

Subsequent sessions can be undertaken on either a private or semi-private basis for friends and couples etc.

4.    Matwork Classes
At this point in time it is not be possible for Pippa to offer larger mat classes from her home studio, other than those currently described above.  However, at some point in the future we are hoping to open a larger studio in the Hampshire area that will accommodate matwork classes for up to eight people.
